At long last through today’s write-up I can proudly present you with the harvest of my recent Bishoujo Soft ventures and that still before this year concludes! Probably located on the foreseeable side of things to readers of this blog out there given that spotlight on this particular project had to come up sooner or moreso later once I crossed through the attached pre-order campaing bonus back in summer. Of course it took me far longer than initially expected but finally I’m done with it and therefore will now head right on to my commenting, thoughts and impressions concerning another MAKURA crafted gem amongst Bishoujo Soft ADV.

-+ Basic Plot Outline:
Back in his childhood when Tonami Yuu raised a group of bunnies nearby his school a traumatic incident one day occured which made this already before partwise dismal boy turning into moreso of an unsocial young man who’s got problems to connect with other people. Amongst the cute pets there was one who’s been kind of an outsider among the pride. Shirayuki as he named this little bunny didn’t favour the fostering like the others within the stable and often Yuu ended up with serious snaps as “reward” in the course of trying to feed the little bunny. However, Yuu still considered Shirayuki something special out of them all and I guess you could say that he saw traits at the rough loner similar to his own. Eventually after some time the snappish Shirayuki though got used to the company of Yuu and toned down the defence. Everything shall change at one day though when two classmates of Yuu’s dropped by the bunny stall – Mana the popular cutey of Yuu’s class and Shin her wanna-be cool boy friend. With her girlish attitude Mana is hooked by the cute bunnies her classmate raises at this place while Shin actually expresses towards Yuu quite upfront that he considers fostering these pets to be girlie stuff. Reserved Yuu doesn’t interfere with Mana’s avid attempt to join him feeding the hungry bunny herd and this leads right to a drama once the unknowing girl reaches our “lone wolf”. Naturally Shirayuki’s reaction to Mana’s feeding efforts is located on the defensive side of things hence she’s earning a snatch from him right away. Upon witnessing injured and shocked Mana her cool-guy company Shun now is seriously pissed-off by what “Yuu’s pets” have done to the cutey which leads right to Shun taking out his aggressions on them. More precisely he kicks Shirayuki far more and harder than the little bunny can take! Shocked and coevally frustrating upon the outcome of this brutal counteract he couldn’t end before it was already too late and on top once confronted with the simple layered reasoning by Shun that this “thing” (Shirayuki) deserved such treatment because he just hurt Mana-chan leads to Yuu to switch over. Totally outraged over the attitude and actions by his classmate the up to then introverted Yuu goes at Shun and beats up the boy. Without any reservation and on a rough level Shun certainly didn’t expect this outbreak from the shy loner and even worse whilst battering in on the boy a voice awakens within Yuu’s mind which is ambitiously enforcing him on his brutal breakout (“the weak shall perish through the stronger just like your classmate showcased it on the bunny before”). Eventually mere crying Mana-chan as well as Yuu’s teacher acchieve to stop him before the previous oh-so-cool classmate is about to share the same fate as Shirayuki! From that incident on Tonami Yuu was even moreso branded as outsider by his surrounding even years later (read: present time) people avoid to get in contact with him as the talk over this manic (some call it even unhuman) outburst back than still gets associated with him and even worse for Yuu is that the other violently personality, which he refers to as “Kare” (him) since then, still resides within his mind trying to turn the traumatized youngster’s distrust over mankind into hatred. Present day Tonami Yuu therefore is a somewhat introverted student at the all-male school he attends with the Otaku club there being his almost sole social connection. Before you may think – no, it’s not the “Nigecha dame da! Nigecha dame da!” kind of controversial Emo lead but Yuu doesn’t experience a carefree youth either (argueably his Cosplay loving Otaku parents don’t help much on that too ^_^). As part of the aforementioned club whereat our lead seems to be the most unknowingly member of (often leading to the captain teasing him for that) they undertake “highly sociable” club activities such as spying out the next door all-female school (with spyglasses!) where the beauties are spending their breaks playing with the visiting kids. So, not only unsociable with his male classmates somewhat trapped within a group of Otaku but on top due to the school forms also getting into touch with the other gender appears to be a big barrier (or literaly speaking fence) to the youngster. This shall change completely though when stumbling over a strange glass filled with candies one afternoon on his walk home from school. With more curiosity involved than consideration Yuu tastes one of these “Supreme Candy” as they’re labeled and the outcome of this is truely located on the magical side of happening when Yuu realizes that the usage has turned him into a little boy! Further exploration past the shock of this magical effect caused by these sweeties eventually showcases to him that there’s a different Candy type included as well that will reconvert him to his present age. With the help of this heaven-sent find Tonami Yuu sees his chance to lastly sneak and moreso get into contact with girls his age and what he did not realize by then, this find furthermore shall change his life completely as he is about to embark on a truely magical venture…

Admitted, reading the basic outline / concept behind MAKURA’s third major project doesn’t make Supre~me Candy sound like it’s going to be scenario-wise a little masterpiece amongst Bishoujo Soft. However also admitted against my initial approach once I got started with it, Supre~me Candy ultimately turns out as that. In order to provide you with a few more indepth thoughts and comments which altogether lead me to my conception that MAKURA/KEROQ are genius at work showcasing this all over again through a project of theirs which couldn’t get more underrated and subtle pushed as done for this one, I will section my thoughts into the various routes which the scenario offers one to explore. Keep in mind that these character specific notes are partwise including heavy spoilers even though I tried hard not to drop these all to much, therefore continue reading at your own risk and liking!
• Amano Hanei
Upon my initial go through the first route taken and completed was the one dedicated to Hanekko. Scenario-wise I’d say it was even intended as starting venture within Supre~me Candy as beautiful Amano Hanei is the first girl Yuu encounters or better phrased is saved by from the rough guardian dog to the all-female school’s campus/playground when trying to sneak into at his child shape. Fascinated by Hanei’s gentle attitude towards him Yuu agrees righ upon her offer to join (her) playing with fellow kids the next day. However that “date” is also the first time our lead realizes that passing through as young boy is not such an easy task either since he’s been unmasked already on day 2 of Supreme Candy usage by fellow classmate of Hanei – Sakuma Yumine. On hilarious manners one might add at this point, since Yumine smelled a rat in connection with the new arrival among Hanekko’s group of children but couldn’t truely get behind what exactely this could be so she confronts him with her theory of that Yuu’s an UMA. Eventually Yuu wills in to elucidate his little aging trick (if just to put an end to Yumine’s overeagness over having met an UMA at last!) to the girl and aside of keeping it a secret she “agrees on” (actually Yumine elicts and enforces this from our lead) being his support to conquer Hanekko’s heart (remember, Yuu is not the most experienced when it comes to social interactions not to speak on behalfs of romance and love ^_~). However once spending more time with Hanei (at child shape) it turns out that Yuu doesn’t rely on helping backup for getting closer with the gentle beauty and later on it even turns out that both knew each other long before Yuu passed into the all-girls school through the Supreme Candy effect.

Gentle yet strong is something I totally associate with this route amongst Supre~me Candy. In fact, if it were not for Himawari bringing in massive amount of sweetness later on as well, the venture towards Hanekko would range as definite favorite path out of the Korie Riko crafted heroine trio. Even though it certainly doesn’t appear to be that way right at the start of this chapter, both Hanei and Yuu share much in common. Aside of the revelation that she’s representing what one could call an Osananajimi to Yuu, both are also on characteristics somewhat synchronizing with each other leading to a very well portrayed and developed relationship along this route. As (probably spoilerific) example of what I’m referring with that I’d say the Yuu’s relapse to indulge to the extinction seeking “Kare” consciousness in order to protect Hanei and moreso the gentle back-up this girl provides to Yuu after he realized his acting was about to repeat what happened back at the Shirayuki incident showcased that the two lovers really needed each other on quite insightful manner. Alongside the event progress herein it’s also showing that Yuu is certainly not all about a traumatized person not capable to take it up for what (or better said who) is precious to him as especially the conclusion showcased on dramatic and impressive manners I’d say. The staging conducted for this portion of scenario is handled on such neat manners that I firstly could not believe how much bittersweet joy it ultimately brought up as right at the start it appeared as if it’ll follow a rather conventional path of “getting closer to the girl, love declaration, big obstacle showing up which they have to overcome”. This whilst to some extend being part of Hanei’s story plays out on unforseeable manners through which quite splendid reason for the acting and events is included througout the whole route. Furthermore the Amano Hanei route takes up several aspects of magic and supernatural themes which to huge part relate right to the beauty herself or better said her origin and whereabouts while leaving big pieces of the giant puzzle behind. Not in a way so that it would feel like the writer(s) totally ignored some aspects, but let’s just say these were not so relevant for the focus of events during this scenario ultimately. On the slight downside of things and while not one of those chara routes most seriously affected by the problem itself, it definitely felt rather short all in all as well, meaning that especially the everyday parts which lead to Hanei and Yuu getting closer with each should have been given more time to develop (and this comes from yours truly who whilst enjoying such for the fun of them often rants that these are streched far longer than necessary in case of other Bishoujo Soft!). However the main focus aspects contained are almost perfectly made usage of througout the whole route (and on top gladly Hanei is involved on follow-up scenarios as well) which leads to an quite impressive first go through Supre~me Candy that directly led me to take up the next chara route right away.
• Sakuma Yumine
As strange as this may sound now Yumine’s route, which I embarked on during my second time through Supre~me Candy, turned out as what can be called the more standard Renai scenario. By standard I most certainly don’t mean to express this being dull or foreseeable at all, but after the magical Hanei path Yumine’s scenario was a more ground (school) based story than one expects given the common path up to then. That said, if it didn’t shine through all to much during the notes made of this girl’s involvement on Yuu’s venture as kid into the playground at the all-female part of educational institute, let me point out now that Sakuma Yumine is an Otaku from head to toe. From her constant remarks of how MOEEE Yuu just looks and reacts at times (sometimes taking photos of him!), her debauching extensive and moreover furious speech over the her highly treasured Anpan up to Yumine consider and referring to Yuu’s (Otaku) father as her Eroge elder – this girl *is* an Otaku out-and-out. As (hopefully) can be deduced off from the above rendered first steps within Hanei’s route the romance between Yumine and Yuu actually develops through the training she agrees / forces onto the lead in order to conquer Hanekko’s heart. Spending more and more time with each other in the course of Yumine’s special love lessons eventually feelings start to arise which totally exclude the person the Otaku beauty has foreseen as Yuu’s target of affection.

As simple layered of a romance this may sound, it certainly isn’t and actually becomes far more complicated when the two realize on their own how much the other means to them. This route whilst early on excluding the magical aspects brought in through the common road up to this point represents one of the most bittersweet and yet strongest love stories contained among Supre~me Candy altogether. In fact, if it were not for the greatness Himawari showcases during her side of the scenario this one would totally earn title as best “classical” Renai setting portrayed. Contrary to Hanei’s route within this we’re getting a decent enough focus spent on the development as well as downright freaking hilarious everyday happenings involving heroine Yumine. One of the elements brought forth on such amazing well showcased manners within the Sakuma Yumine scenario is once the true characteristics of both leads start to step forth when it’s getting serious whether or not there’s a chance for a relationship between them. Strong acting Yumine who appears to aim hard and successfull towards what she wants turns out to hide a quite unconfident and self-critical mindest underneath the surface. Contrary Yuu’s strong and dedicated mind which he mostly knows well to hide behind insecurity breaks through when he realizes for sure what and moreover whom he truely loves. The events portraying the attempt of Yuu to make that clear and moreso believable for Yumine are resulting into climax moments that while some may call a tiny bit cheesy totally work out if you got just a mere little sense for great romance. Also in regards of conclusions I felt that this route presents one with a truely fitting epilogue that does credit to the greatness of Sakuma Yumine. Therefore I was much as in case of Hanei’s path (if not slightly more due to the neat execution that didn’t leave off with similar of a condensed feel as the previous one) finding myself impressed to continue with chara route number three to seek out more of Supre~me Candy right away.
• Aihara Tokimi
ウ゛ェ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ゛エ Yes, I’m aware of that Tokimi’s “special” way of expressing joy was somewhat supposed to be a parody on NicoNico Douga content commenting but still here’s sure that I wasn’t the only one out there with an ever growing dislike (or fear) over Aihara Tokimi’s laughter. Tokimi-chan is a neighbourhood kid who regularly drops by the Tonami household to play with her beloved Onii-san (Yuu) whom she declares deep love on each and every possible occassion not making a secret of her plans to marry him one day..and the sooner the better for Tokimi as she enthuses over to her friends at school). Of course this clinging personality of this girl often leads to misunderstandings within the family (let’s just say Yuu’s mother Yuriko got a well refined sense to enter the scene when it’s most easy to misinterpret things and then it goes “Danna-sama!! Dannasamaaa! Look at what your son is about to do to innocent little Tokimi-chan!” ^_~) as well as outside (her classmates having of course the weirdest of view upon Yuu due to Tokimi’s enthusiasm on concerns of him) to the point our lead is getting viewed as Lolicon at times. It’s also during the peak of such Tokimi caused incident that Yuu looses his glass of Supreme Candy. While at first seriously worried over the outcome when someone else finds and (also) uses these magical goods, it doesn’t take all that long ’till Yuu considers this a problem solving itself. He was not aware that the person who found and unknowingly uses the Supreme Candy is no-one else but uber-Genki Tokimi-chan!

This route was in the (still common) beginning part hilarious on same or similar likes as the previous (Yumine) one had it througoutly ’cause even though Yuu getting erroneously “outed” as Lolicon could easily become tired it just worked out there on each and every occassion thanks to the interaction and moreso reacting by his surrounding (i.e. Yuriko’s shout for her Danna-sama which Yuu’s Dad wrinkly took note of even though he was not within reach ^_~). That said also his parents teasing and crazy ventures supported the funny side of this part amongst the scenario quite perfectly with one of downright most memorable moments there being Shuu’s phone call whilst trying out a newly opened Yandere café in town. Honestly though once going deeper into Tokimi’s route this made me seriously questioning Yuu’s state of comprehension. Adult turned Tokimi was about as hyper-Genki (if not slightly more lunatic rushing at full speed at Yuu equipped with a ウ゛ェ゛エ゛ Shitajiki which she used to chop him with!) and acting exactely just as her usual age with the mere difference being her dimensions..yet the thought of that Tokimi and Girochin (name of adult turned Tokimi which she took on with the unknowing help of Yuu) could be one and the same person didn’t cross his mind! I mean, how many girls are out there with such maniac hysteric laughter as Tokimi to begin with?! But seriously, Yuu assumed Girochin to be a coming from abroad due to her strange way of talking amongst others (childish and on top starting most of her talk by referring to herself as “Me” which is the same way as kid Tokimi does it but in terms of Girochin here Yuu felt the usage of English would be proof of his theory…). So yeah, at the very first time through Supre~me Candy it felt to me like the writers would be making fun not only of Yuu’s but moreso of my conception with the scenario portrayed herein as well. However while going through the story and moreso romance Yuu works on to get started with Girochin the whole portrayal of the lead characters within this route took on a quite interresting turn. It’s not only his inability to realize the truth behind Girochin despite continuous hints presented to him along the way, but on several other aspects during the events Yuu acts here quite naive to almost childish at times (i.e. pretty late within Tokimi’s route once he *is* lastly getting behind the secret) and I did feel that this was intended to be one of the core characteristics to the Aihara Tokimi portion of scenario. Given the nature of this heroine I felt that something as complicated as the previous two romantical relations had were quite unfitting for Tokimi’s story to begin with and it was a bittersweet turn of portrayal executed herein. Yuu the older and wiser Onii-san of little annoying Tokimi-chan whilst reacting like a spoiled kid when Girochin with her innocent and still gentle attitude shows traits of being not such a youngster at all. Hence even thought a rather huge twist of Yuu’s characteristics were taken on for the Aihara Tokimi scenario I ultimately felt that it was still well chosen and suiting the lead for it quite perfectly. Moreso the peak of this scenario was rather neat as well making it another winning chara route within Supre~me Candy even though altogether it’s this one were shortness was to me most visable at first (even far more than in case of Hanei’s story). Another element which shall lastly get mention at this part of the write-up is how much attention and care on little details in the transition of each route has been spent by the MAKURA staff. Example of that being the “certain Mahou Shoujo Anime” Yuu used to know, back in Hanekko’s scenario mere mention, in the Yumine story of course our Otaku heroine knew it was Magical Girl Otoha whilst Yuu noted it to be a show his neighbour used to watch while during the Tokimi route we’ve got this “show” enjoyed by neighbourhood girl Tokimi herself. While not *exactely* as enchanted and hooked as back with the previous two chara routes it still was rocking enough to embark onto the next portion among the scenario right away.
• Nanahoshi Syuri
Next stop alongside Supre~me Candy for me was Nanahoshi Syuri the self-proclaimed SPG (Super Positive Girl). Contrary to most routes so far, Syuri’s took a total different approach with the Supreme Candy trick of Yuu being excluded right before it can comence, meaning that prior to him decided to make proper use of them he is literaly run over by her. Syuri being the first girl permitted as sort of a test run at the all-male school Yuu attends, naturally gains vast popularity not only among her fellow classmates but furthermore the whole menhood at school the moment she enters it. She is a positive heroine who’s living under the motto that “everything’s fine as long as it’s fun” which seems to be her reason for agreeing upon the Otaku club’s request to join them. Of course Syuri being a sought-after new addition for each club at school rage by the others over her joining the outsiders at the Otaku branch is aroused as much as that some clubs (the Basketball one in the frontline) begins to question the existance of this strange club in the first place with there being no presentable activities the Otaku club would undertake. So at the brink of its existance the club captain entrusts Yuu and Syuri with the quest to seek out the true meaning of MOE! Sounds freaking awesome, doesn’t it? In fact Syuri’s route or better said the different paths it takes along its term is making it an interesting to refreshing part of the scenario altogether. One of the aspects which step forth during this one which I enjoyed the utmost best was the team spirit inspired through this girl. Contrary to other heroine paths thus far, the Nanahoshi Syuri story relies heavily on not only the girl in question and Yuu to overcome obstacles but here we’ve got the whole Otaku club (and foremost its captain) to support and help out both our lead and his girl. Syuri on the other hand is also a refreshing and formeost MOE-licious heroine unlike others before, meaning she treats Yuu with special pleasure through the Otaku-ish moments of their journey (i.e. once she finds out about Yuu’s Maid fetish she took on a job at a Maid Café – named Café Supre~me Supre~me the other day) and makes no big deal about her crush on Yuu-chanpai (the crazy way of naming Syuri created for Yuu as he didn’t want to be called Yuu-senpai nor Yuu-chan ^_~) ever since their first encounter. Syuri open and extroverted attitude later on actually turns into one of the obstacles the two love birds have to overcome as this time around his self uncertainness interferes once Syuri formally confesses her feelings to him.

Altogether the Nanahoshi Syuri path as pleasant as it plays out though suffers the most grave from the aforementioned length issue, or so it felt to me. Actually in contrast to such problems noticeable during Hanei’s and moreso Tokimi’s scenario this one does involve a good focus on everyday moments (their quest to find an answer to what is MOE) yet somewhat looses time when it comes to the portrayal of romance during the final part of it. This means that it all feels quite heavily rushed when it comes to the two of them finding a way to let their relationship exist and even though it’s been portrayed on equal neat manners as done back with previous chara routes it felt far too short and here I consider Syuri a heroine who’s definitely deserved a far more extended or better phrased proper portrayal than it has been the case during her route. Seriously I’m sure that if this one would have been granted more time to space out events than it would have ranked on par with the excellent staged Yumine scenario, but at the manners portrayed Nanahoshi Syuri’s story felt overall quite rushed and abbreviated to impress me on same or even similar scales. However what *is* there really makes a good introduction and moreover portrayal to this girl in order to represent a quite solid additional scenario and perspective with the aforementioned team spirit and different characteristics of Yuu showcased being among the most notable aspects this route brought forth (and thankfully artistical mastermind in charge – karory – at least continued some more short H story coverage for Syuri within her Doujin Circle publications *blogging on that to be slated for N-Field btw. as well sooner or latter*). Solid despite the flaws in length I’m heading on right to the next scenario Supre~me Candy is comprised of.
• Minato Himawari
Lastly progressing into the Minato Himawari scenario which I had specifically saved up for the end or better said once past Syuri’s on purpose. During all her appearances within the Hanei (and coevally tiny bits of Yumine) scenario Himawari absolutely hit hard on my MOE radar with her absolutely cute and uber-shy way of approaching Yuu. Actually it’s more like she runs off everytime adult Yuu tries to exchange greetings once they met on their way to school or at every other place in town and also in kid-shape Himawari’s approach is somewhat of a sweet and coevally shy Onee-san that this girl’s charm is so absolutely heart-warming. Given the subtle hint concerning Syuri’s Doujin ventures this also leads right to the final heroine crafted by almighty Korie Riko (who’s also having a fondness for Himawari-chan it seems). From the very beginning of Supre~me Candy much as noted before whenever Yuu gets to meet Himawari she couldn’t bare it and runs away as if stung by an adder. In previous routes this limitates contact with the charming heroine to mere Supreme Candy transformation undergone Yuu when being around Hanei’s play group which Himawari occassionally joins as well, however during this particular scenario our lead protagonist starts to think about what has happened that his former Osananajimi Himawari bears such dismissive attitude towards him nowadays. This means flashback to Yuu’s past more particularly the moment he first met Himawari on a rainy day like when he’s starting his rememberance. A cute small Himawari-chan who seems to take shelter from the pooring rain undernath a tree at the local park’s playground yet the girl in fact is observing a tiny blue snail which is crawling over a flower’s leaf. The charm of this beauty also captivates little Yuu-chan and so he approaches Himawari for the first time which shall lead to a deep friendship between both from that time on. However not so gentle youthful memories came up soon which actually lead right to the reason these two former close friends totally broke up contact with each other and also reason why Yuu thinks Himawari despises him in present time. Blurry pieces within his memory lead him to the scenary of fellow kids his age (Yuu’s classmates) snappy asking him whether “he really likes “this thing”". Continuing with that “such thing” would be girlie stuff Yuu is unsettled by the fuss “this thing” causes and the next time he meets Himawari whom apparently holds “this thing” precious together with Yuu, the disgruntled youngster crashes “this thing” in front of a shocked Himawari.

Of course at this early point within the scenario it’s not fully revealed what exactely the “thing” is both had hold so special back then but in the course of his rememberance Yuu’s getting more and more in touch with Himawari leading to the utmost beautiful romance setting Supre~me Candy has to offer. That said, even though the magical aspects are included early on through the candy or better said Yuu’s usage of them, the Minato route is moreso feeling classic Renai as it’s been conducted for Yumine’s story. Much like in case of the Otaku girl though this does absolutely not mean that Himawari’s route is anything dull or foreseeable as it’s in fact a truely captivating one from start ’till the very finale. Coming along with some of the most breathtaking visuals Korie Riko crafted for this MAKURA project altogether, I found myself deeply in love with Himawari-chan whenever she graced the scenary. Whilst not being an Otaku Himawari got a huge addiction on sweets of every type and as sweet as that hobby of hers is just as MOE-licious the whole portrayal as conducted herein has been handled. It’s moreover also remarkable how refreshing the scenario perception has been conducted for this road among Supre~me Candy as a good share of the happenings are also portrayed via Himawari’s perspective as well. That works out on special bittersweet romantic ways for this story as it’s all about misconceptions between those two characters. Yuu with his blurry memory of that he’s been rude to his Osananajimi which leads him to believe the girl must truly dislike and avoid him (much like other people do) for that even though he’s not aware/remembering the exact details of this incident that led to the friendship break-up back then, whilst Himawari approaches her childhood friend in fact from the total opposite side meaning that she’s actually still crazy in love with him (and we’re showcased her droolfest at the evening once she got to spend some daytime with our lead!) yet due to the events back in their past believes that Yuu just can’t stand or doesn’t like her on same levels as she would dream and wish of. Therefore the development and flow of events that this route takes along its progression shapes into a truely wonderful Renai story which one can’t help but has to obey to even if just a mere tiny bit of romantical sense resides among one. The pacing as executed for Himawari’s branch of scenario is lastly also getting back to way better terms, in fact next to the Yumine path this one totally went by smooth that even despite not being extensive on its own either not really coming across with a rushed feel like most noteable the previous (Syuri and Tokimi) scenarios had it written all over them. Therefore I must say that it’s been a clever choice to save up the Minato Himawari route in before the big concluding ones since it strengthened my impression and approach on this MAKURA project altogether representing the utmost best “laid-back” Renai setting Supre~me Candy includes and which shall lead me right on to another path.
• Tsuyuki Yuuri
Unoooon what to say about Tsuyuki Yuuri other than this being sheer awesomeness unleashed? ^_^ Actually I had planned to go for this chara scenario way before (as I wanted to save up Himawari for the final) but several fans pointed out and adviced to go for Yuuri’s scenario right in before the final heroine would become available. So here’s following a good advice anytime and guess I must note this certainly was a very well founded one on top! Tsuyuki Yuuri is another girl at the all-female school Yuu sneaks in through the Supreme Candy magic trick and also one of the first he has contact with on rather odd ways. Wearing a bunny ear hat all of the time Yuuri as Yuu finds out early on is actually considered a genius and top at her school yet it’s due to her appearance and moreso the love this girl bears towards all living creatues (like her pet Chitose..a millipede!) that brands her as strange person often bullied by her fellow classmates for that. She’s also among those students playing with kids though her methods for that are likely questionable (i.e. Yuuri gathers the kids around her screaming “Kagakuuu! Kagakuu!” and whilst some may expect some educational showcase for the kids coming from this genius, Yuuri opens the cardboard box she carries along with her to unleash a horde of bees or bats as such “science” play ^_^). Seriously Yuuri is somewhat of the strangest bird within the cage here and this continues to her charming trait to commence almost each sentence with the “Unoon” catch-phrase to naming people the way she likes (Hanei = Hanekko or once kid-shape Yuu didn’t want to tell her his name she merely crafted one on her own – so it was Talent-kun during her appearance within the Hanei route ^_~). But the alienating awe and joy this girl brings up actually carries deep sadness along as well as Yuu experiences during this portion of scenario early on. The clique of girls that have it on for Yuuri are not holding back their dislike to just mere insults or childish nicknaming but these are brutal brats in fact presenting the underestimated genius a tough and rough life at school. Of course Yuu tries to do what’s possible for him to support Yuuri but the strange beauty doesn’t truely consider it her right nor will to strike back at her tantelizers. Alongside the progress of this scenario Yuu often faces reminiscence of the time and also incident that occured back with Shirayuki and this is woven into the story quite perfectly at the earlier stage. Once getting closer to Yuuri though mysteries start to show up one after another such as the reaction by his father once Yuu eventually wills in to tell him the name of the girl his Dad suspected his son to get involved with or way more located on the bizzare side of things being Yuuri’s accommodation a giant European looking building in the midst of the town’s park that Yuu compares as if right out of a Shoujo Manga.

At this point I most certainly restrain myself not to drop any more spoilers and merely note that there’s perfect reason for the strange aura surrounding Tsuyuki Yuuri. That said, this scenario lastly after the classic Renai story presented through Himawari’s route goes back to more magical ground and in fact I would call it one of the main strings contained within Supre~me Candy altogether. That’s not only because of how deeply connected the plot here is with the lead protagonist himself, but moreover it does conclude in a way that it presents smooth transition and actually preview to what this MAKURA goodness got prepaired for the grand finale once past here. On terms of Nakige moments a fair share of those are reserved to be unleashed through the Yuuri route especially towards the last half of it and also much as been the case during my preivous go-through Supre~me Candy this scenario truely came across with almost perfect pacing despite sharing similar length to other branches among the story as well. Moreover the more direct interacting with characters formerly held center stage within the common part of the road as well as starting at this route itself was played out on such delicate well done manners (i.e. Hanei’s reminder support to Yuu) that the story of Tsuyuki Yuuri ranges high amongst my overall favorite setting of this Soft and definitely being a true highlight altogether. Yuuri is true greatness purely unleashed and not only because of the teasing way of providing epilogue here I felt even moreso than before motivated to complete Supre~me Candy right away…and by then I didn’t even predict what was about to come up next!
• Hasegawa Isaac Izumi Mercedes Jakoko (Jako)
Final route or let’s call it special route as this portion among the scenario of Supre~me Candy is lastly available to embark on once having completed all the other heroine routes as commented on above. Yeah it certainly took quite some time to reach as far as that, but let me tell you that this concluding story is oh-so-freaking worth it you won’t even sense the scales of awe brought in through it! Upon reflecting for a moment over the girls that Yuu learned to know through the usage of the Supreme Candy up to now on his way to school suddenly a girl dressed in strange black witch costume holding an uber-sized scythe appears in front of him. “What you can see me Yuu? That means the end of the world has just begun!”. Freaked out by the small beauty Yuu naturally can’t make sense out of what she’s trying to tell him and considers her a weird youngster who’s a couple of weeks early for Halloween with her fashion. Bad bad mistake Mr. Tonami because you should never ever try to anger a Tsunderekko let alone when shes equipped with a scythe! After major scolding over taking her not serious eventually the girl introduces herself as Hasegawa Isaac Izumi Mercedes Jakoko or as they agree upon Jako would do it as abbrevation as well (’cause Yuu just can’t keep the full name). In fact Yuu’s theory over this weird girl can’t be held up long since it turns out that truely no one else but him is capable to see Jako. The witch-like beauty “declares” later on to Yuu that she’s in fact a weapon that has been sent back in time from a distant future in order to prevent the world’s existance for which she has to kill Yuu!

As strange as this few summarizing words on the start of Jako’s route may appear to be, the scenario portrayed through this route brings Supre~me Candy on a whole new stage of awe (and here I like to think credits for that go to Sukaji as the concept of girls and blades or better said scythe in terms of Jako has his name written all over it). Much if not even moreso than in case of Yuuri’s splendid route I must keep up restraint not to shed out more spoilers for this portion among the scenario as it truely rules out the already mighty wonderful previous heroines altogether. Also shedding lastly light on several issues which the other routes did partwise hint or miss out altogether on the big mysteries Supre~me Candy presents one with from the very beginning on, from “Kare” and the actual danger emerging from it to even the truth and origin behind the Supreme Candy that Yuu up to then considered a lucky gift he stumbled over which brought much joy and good fortune to him, which they are definitely not at their core concept! Of course alongside the progression also the story of Jako herself is showcased which also directly connects to our lead Tonami Yuu to extends which one wouldn’t have expected at this stage. Given that this route sets back to a couple of days more prior to how others started out at, also the pacing and time spent on developing the relation between Yuu and his killing angel Jako is handled on perfect scales leaving nothing left to be desired I’d say. Aside of lastly reaching to the main core of scenario on serious and tough manners als Jako with her Tsundere attitude is about to lead to a whole lot of downright hilarious moments herein (i.e. her atttempts to act like a normal/human girl with the help of an the “Moeru Imouto” book Yuu’s father bought for his Yuriko or the time she tried to render Tokimi’s weird laughter as she believed that would be something Yuu treasures about a girl! ^_^). I’ve heard a lot of fans raving over Jako and the greatness this girl represents for Supre~me Candy way before I even got started with this Soft and let’s just say that such often results in overexcitement and hype without profound reasons but in case of Jako I must aknowledge that the dosage of awe she brings along upon her arrival in Yuu’s life is hardly possible to render at this place as it’s something to experience and get enchated by on ones own. Therefore once finished with this final route the first time on Jako’s conclusion, I felt that I’ve just gone through the one true climax amongst the whole Supre~me Candy scenario which certainly represents a huge reward for having completed all heroine stories up to this point. Merely one additional way of completing the Jako labeled path was therefore left to accomplish and much like before once Yuuri’s branch ended, this one features a teaser that shall foreshadow what now truely *is* the last and altogether huge conlcusion to Supre~me Candy!
• Phosphorus (Final Route)
As noted, before I managed to enter the final scenario and had just completed the Jako ED, I didn’t expect much more awe than the already amazing “common” outgo of droolworthy scythe girl Jako’s scenario to be presented through the last part to fully complete Supre~me Candy with. In fact, back then I somewhat thought that this must be some sort of Bad End as Yuuri’s scenario had it exclusively contained (that being Yuu “uncovered” by the girls as not being the kid he pretends to be). But once again during this magnificent MAKURA project it occured to me that I was totally off with my expectation for the so-labeled Phosphorus path. So Yuu thought he’d be the only capable to see Jako which already led to several hilarious incidents along the way (i.e. Jako raising clueless Yumine’s skirt in the midst of town just to see what kind of Pantsuuu human girls usually wear ^_~), however within this route Yuu’s invisible company crosses paths with…Tsuyuki Yuuri and guess who is also capable to see Jako besides our lead? That’s right Yuuri reacts shocked – “What’s that filthy scythe doing here?!!” – once witnessing Jako nearby Yuu and vice versa the self-proclaiming weapon of destruction ain’t that pleased over this encounter either – “Kono kono kono konoooo Jashiinn!” – leading right to a battle where Yuuri goes at scythe wielding Jako with a bus stop stand to the detriment of their surrounding (buildings). As it’s not that hard to comprehend for Yuu these two girls not only are capable to see each other but moreover they know each other and actually are considered archenemies which they are not making a big secret of. In fact they’re showing the dislike over one another at each occassion with Jako’s Tsundere attitude easily falling victim to Yuuri’s teasing. From that encounter on the both girls stay side by side with Yuu, Jako of course not aiming to back off given her mission whilst Yuuri proclaims that she won’t leave Yuu alone with that filthy scythe as she truely loves him (naturally this confession puzzles Yuu quite a bit, given he didn’t know the truth behind this girl at that part of the scenario at all and furthermore can’t make sense out of Yuuri’s hints of what is connecting her so deeply with our puzzled lead at all!) and aims to protect him from Jako.

Along this concluding scenario one is presented to both the truth behind Tsuyuki Yuuri as well as Jako’s past which were already revealed during the previous two chara routes basically. However, the Phosphorus scenario (that being the name Jako refers to Yuuri rather than using the name which she’s known to others up to this point) doesn’t merely rely on retelling in order to join these two girls’ backstory just for the sake of catfight fun (though there *is* plenty of hilarious stuff coming up lastly when they’re both deciding to stay at Yuu’s place ^_^), because taking the already revealed bits to showcase one that these were just tiny bits and parts among the whole plan! Especially in regards of Yuuri there’s going to be a load more of stuff to arise as the concluding route to Supre~me Candy unfolds! Therefore as hopefully shines through my comments at this point well enough my approach of that the final route would be a mere alternative way to end Jako’s scenario with was not only totally off but instead this truely resulted into a reward Supre~me Candy impressed me with big times all over again right before the truel end came up much too soon (mind you though also pacing on this branch of the story has been executed on brilliant and moreover well-balanced manners not feeling rushed or shortened at any moment througout it!).
+ Graphics / Visuals:
Progressing to the next category and therewith reaching the art concerning part, I can’t be helped but continue right away with the feast of raving notes at this point. MAKURA and in general KEROQ is known to invest much effort on the graphical presentation of their projects with that being also (similar in terms of scenario writing) the joint work by a group of talents out of their squad. That taken into account and even moreso since my previous Bishoujo Soft venture actually has been their Haru no Yuki release I approached Supre~me Candy under the misconception that I would know what to expect from it on these regards as well. On same scales as the scenario itself has caught me off-guard also the visualization that MAKURA’s staff came up with was eyecandy of most excellent kind that turned me drooling in front of the screen on countless occassions. Furthermore contrary to previous works released under the MAKURA Brand we’ve got an almost completely new formation of artists teaming up for Supre~me Candy. First and foremost notable being Korie Riko whom I in general approach with a high dosage of bias previously known from KEROQ relations for her work on PETITKEROQ’s debut and coincidentally up to now sole project Terebi no Kieta Hi as main artist together with infamous Inugami Kila (sticking to her own romanization once again btw.) to then “merely” known as been in charge of art for the H2O Manga. These two talents combined alone are destined to be capable of eyecandy that sets new definition to MOE art (sadly on terms of both artists’ Doujin activities their paths have mere once crossed yet..and at this point I shall also drop the next blogging intend/resolution to sooner or latter bring on coverage of this particular publication here for N-Field as well) and while they craft an artistical show-off ranging right at those waters it’s not done with the two alone. As fellow part of the team we’ve got Mizusawa Mimori who’s previously worked under shortened pen name of Mimori as colorist on both H2O and √after and another here in charge as well (Yumine) plus as artistical debut even though it’s assumed she is around with MAKURA/KEROQ relations before as well, lastly the great karory has been given the task to work on Supre~me Candy as well to which she’s designed moe-licious Syurikko for. With so many talents combined of course the transition of each individual style is quite important to the grand picture overall, but in terms of MAKURA/KEROQ one really shouldn’t enter a project of theirs with such worries at all given they understand their working as collective as smooth that it turns out into eyecandy on every occassion. As prime example of that I’d lastly name lead protagonist Yuu himself who’s been portrayed by all main artists in their own style (Korie Riko and karory Yuu is so bishielicious it took much strength not to focus on him once portrayed together with the route’s heroine ^_^”) during the individual chara routes (as maybe the starting and Syuri screen cap taken showcase). Therefore Supre~me Candy is no exception to that rule of theirs in fact given this new assembly in charge I felt that it was even more refreshing than their already decent works put out prior to this one and let me tell you at this point that checking out the Official and much neglected website does so totally not provide you with an idea what this Soft got prepaired in visual (and story-wise) terms at all! At the note of changes/new artistical team constellations also it’s worth mentioning that in contrast to pretty much all MAKURA works prior to this one the SD art has not been done by Migiri Rentan (who’s SD is a riot I deeply adore therefor!) but instead each of the main artists were handling the SD moment art themself which means we’re also getting cute Korie Riko Hanei and Himawari SD Event CGs as well as downright hilarious Inugami-sensei done portrayals on Jako and Yuuri presented! Not only is the chara art to die for and Event CG wise available on quite amazing extend but the visualization as a whole is worked out on such decent manners being detail loaded and highly refined worked out. Okay, here they certainly don’t seem to have the same financial resources as others *cough* minori *cough* so it’s in direct comparisson not on par on technical terms but if you’re exposed to scenaries such as these background Event CG you can’t deny the love that was invested on its creation (speaking of BG actually among the team in charge of that also scenario writer Sukaji helped out…of course that knowledge does mere require a look at the content of his pixiv account). In summary with such a load of talents working together on the visualization of this projects as well (as mentioned, aside of the four main artists which were also directly involved on coloration the list of supporting colorists/BG illustrating talents is just as shiny and rich as the Soft itself ranging from Sukaji over Kagome to Seiji Yoshida and so forth) Supre~me Candy represents also a true feast for the eyes.
+ Music / CV:
Given that I went out of my way to get ahold of the Supre~me Candy Soundtrack MAKURA published for this year’s DreamParty (at last) should be pretty telling about my impressions on behalf of the musical side, nee? ^_~ Seriously speaking this Softhouse already showcased through previous projects of theirs that their skills don’t take a halt on concerns of crafting a magnificent score to accompany their Visual Novels with. Awed by their work on the Sakura no Uta prologue (!) big times right in before entering Supre~me Candy the quality of music to be found within this one doesn’t stand far behind emotional capturing pieces of music mostly suiting each and every moment througout the journey. Of course, also in case of Supre~me Candy we’ve got a good shair of BGM tracks that are moreso located on the crazy manic side of music (such as “KY☆KY“, “UnSccessFul” or Tokimi’s theme “GUI•LLO•TI•NE“) underlining moments of that kind during the scenario yet not really the kind of music one would consider to lend itself perfect on independant/standalone listening later on. Yet there are tracks like the charming Hanei theme “HOOVER GIRL” or even the chilling sounds like right out of a smoke-filled Jazz club “calmy” that appears when Yuu got his Rabien Rose illusions (read: ecchi imaginationing that he sometimes does not have under control as good as he’d like to yet is working to mute the voice of “Kare” at times as well) and lastly decent emotional pieces out of the score like “Izanai“, “Yokuzoku” “Hikari atsumaru Basho” and “Kimi to Irukara” (especially in its “-Piano SOLO Ver.-“) or the utmost catchy theme “Tobenai Mahoutsukai” that contrary there do stand very firm and shining on stand alone listening over and over again! Believe me, the OST is rotating in my player ever since the arrival and moreso once I completed Supre~me Candy and in general *though seperate write-up on this release is planned also* highly recommended to get the full score plus vocal pieces not collected at all within the Soft’s Music Mode let alone were the vocal songs played at any occassion during the scenario as far as my memory serves me correctly (listening to “Suki dayo” I’m fully in love with the score). It’s therefore also on belongs of music the case of one should enter Supre~me Candy with confidence for the talents in charge here. Those that were taking up the task to craft theme, ED, (unplayed) insert plus the BGM score altogether were highly gifted (Doujin) music unit PIXELBEE (yes, I’m aware that I’m leaning out today for a bit but may I drop one additional note that a proper PIXELBEE dedicated write-up is actually already in the works? ^_~) and just as it’s been the case with Haru no Yuki and other MAKURA projects they were entrusted with the score creation both monet and Kudo know their onions very well. Another recurring talent that has been labeled as to have helped the musicians here was ryo. Given I can’t make out an official website for this creator I’m truely not sure though doubting it’s actually *the* ryo known from a fairly popular (Doujin) music Circle but stranger things happened, nee? This brings me once over again to the conclusion that MAKURA in fact *is* a much underrated Softhouse given they’re capable to pull off goodness of such high niveau on so many aspects that are important to a project to begin with, the score for Supre~me Candy representing no exception to that sentiment at all.
On the voice talent side of noting I must give them all big kudos at this point! Especiall mention go towards Kanematsu Yuka who voiced Jako and succeeded on such splendid level to portray us the Tsunderekko so that I would state even people not falling for this trait will L-O-V-E this heroine big times, Kamimura Hina of whom I’ve honestly become quite the fan of due to her job on Tsuyuki Yuuri (Unoooon) plus last but definitely not least among these notable mentions out of the splendid cast assembled for the vocal side of Supre~me Candy Kawashima Rino (G-Senjou’s Haru!) as Otaku girl Yumine got me rightfully excited since the mere start and she’s doing so amazingly well to make this heroine sound like a female nerd I can’t help but love it ^_^
Much as noted the rest of the vocal talents were casted and chosen on much splendid manners througout, meaning there’s no single (heck, that even includes Tokimi’s Seiyuu Nogami Nana since I seriously can’t imagine how one could possible render such a laughter!) character along the road where I felt that the vocals would not match perfectly. Of course at this point it should also be noted that MAKURA stuck with all female voices only meaning that non of the male characters were given voicing altogether (contrary to that even the bullying girls of Yuuri’s route were voiced though I do think some of the girl students/classmates were done by the same VA’s). But despite that the voices featured are just as of top-notch niveau as this title ends up on several other accounts.
+ Ero Content:
What could I note in regards of H scenes other than sublime? ^_~ Well on the more detailed side of notes there is a total of 14 Ero scenes througout Supre~me Candy with the split up between characters being more or less fair although some really take the lion’s share scene-wise (that title definitely goes to Hanei who’s having three all in all whilst one originates not from her route but rather the Bad End as available during another chara route) whilst others are not granted as much (Tokimi with only one such moment).

Quality and writing during these are also most of the time pretty well handled with there being little left for me to rant over. Mere one scenary portrayed which also is to be found collected later within the Special section (H) Scene Mode goes completely against my liking. That particular scene referring to at this point in fact gave me a not so pleasant reminder over a certain other Soft even though the Jako centric moment being completely different in terms of setting/happening and story I must note that while it did work out as shocking element within the particular character route itself, I cannot fathom with the idea to make such content available as part of the “fun” the Ero scene replay later on should provide one with. But taking this one moment aside the adult labeled content within Supre~me Candy ranges altogether on pretty solid niveau, even though on the continous slight ranting side of things at times their placing during the scenario was not througoutly suiting all that much. This however is also restricted to some out of the gang of heroines as others truely were placed and moreso staged pretty decent (some of Yuuri’s scenes are downright hilarious like when she’s been “caught” by Yuu). What’s also pretty important in terms of H scenes to me when the cast of heroines is as large as it’s the case here, is that the progression of these shouldn’t get repeative (you know, same stuff just with another girl in charge) on the long term. And gladly on these concerns I can claim that Supre~me Candy doesn’t leave one down througout each route without any ranting comments or exceptions to be noted. Overall the Ero content as presented herein is located on pretty solid to partwise great grounds.
+ System:
Nothing really special to make note of for the System dedicated part of this write-up as everything featured within Supre~me Candy at this point is kept basic/standard to begin with. Meaning that there are no unique or nonstandard fancy functions included other than you’d expect from a release of its kind. Also the pretty unique “emergency” feature as known from previous projects by MAKURA (you know the button through which you’ll quickly skip to a random piece of art during Ero moments) has not been reincluded and also the Skip function featured while working as good as expected in the beginning especially during the concluding route where we’ve got a combination of already experienced story with new content it’s not really all that handy, meaning that you can’t skip past those already trusted moments/revelations other than to manually click through or either read all over them again. Bonus-wise also everything has been kept to basics as once completing a route the Special section appears with the CG mode, seven pages full of Event CG art with 20 sheets per page and these are for the majority multiple artworks especially the final page includes a sheer amazing amount of art per individual CG screen, then we’ve got the Scene mode which enables of course replay of the H scenes unlocked/collected plus the Music section which contains the main pieces of 31 BGM tracks in total. Given the awe Supre~me Candy brought along on other and by far more important aspects I guess one side being moreso standard without any major tricks involved which should impress one can be forgiven at any rate. On total different note I checked out (once for a change ^_^) the official Support site by MAKURA for Supre~me Candy and got the thereat offered Patch working before I got started with it but I’m seriously not sure whether that was a clever idea or not. For once there’s little information especially by the developers of that “Updater” available it’s basically just recommended to download and get it running for the Soft. While the majority of Supre~me Candy went over flawless on these terms, I actually ran into such Bug right at the final scenario route as this little screener shows (background over parts of the characters with that piece of BG art nervously swinging from one side of the screen to the other…). It’s not a big deal actually since I just went back to the last save and progressed to current stage with the Skip feature but still it felt a bit puzzling. Moreover and here I would absolutely appreciate feedback by fellow MAKURA fans out there which have gone through Supre~me Candy as well there seems to be no OP nor ED credits represented at all. Back when completing the first couple of chara routes I thought that this lack of credits may be intended to come up once finished with every path available…but once done with the real final one it just goes back to title menu once the conlcuding scenary ended with the respective instrumental theme played for it. So I keep wondering whether that’s really the case that MAKURA chose not to include any form of credits to this Soft of theirs altogether or whether I missed something (read: help would be much appreciated on that…and that said I also have gone through the Bad End of Yuuri’s route and the “saved / turning good in last minute” path accessable there).
+ Packaging:
The so-titled Tokusou Shokaiban of Supre~me Candy comes along housed in a sturdy box. While I do like the design MAKURA released this Soft at the idea of how the box is to be opened is not of such pleasant note at least not in the format chosen as the box opens right at the middle so you have to take it apart. That is actually no problem if they would have attached some sort transparent (plastic) case/packing over it as (many) other Brands handle that for their products (i.e. AKABEiSOFT’s G-Senjou no Maou which technically didn’t even need that other than for display/demonstrating purpose) because as sturdy as the box itself is, opening the Tokusou Shokaiban box once or twice and you’ll need to display Supre~me Candy (regardless whether upright or horizontal!) beneath something else (like two other Soft cases as I do) to beware this special made edition not to fall apart and spread its content all over the place. That rant aside on the notes concerning the inside of this box this edition comes along with some mighty fine goods as well. First of all we’ve got a medium thick Supre~me Candy Official Artworks. Self-explanatory title I’d say yet filled with lovely content from start to end. Beginning with eight selected pieces of color art crafted by the artists for various coverage in the midst of MAKURA dedicated spotlight as done by Bishoujo Soft magazines like TECH GIAN (in fact the majority of color art herein comes from TG scoop/features), PUSH!! as well as PC Angel neo and also Dengeki HIME. Somewhat fair character split up conducted throughout this art collection which is shown best through the actual start of Official Artworks coevally commencing the b/w main content of it. Character data profiles for each of the girls with a similar layout conducted for all of them, meaning they start out with a portray of the respective beauty with data attached, continue with some rough design drafts by the artist in charge and continue with a couple of pages of either througoutly rough/line Event CG art or mixing that up with some b/w Event CG as well. Also each of these artworks collected feature comments by the various artistical talents in charge at the sidewards not to interfere with the art itself. Not only all among the main cast receive extended coverage during this section of Official Artworks but moreover sub-characters such as the Tonami parents, Jack, Tana-kun, etc. are getting one page (no rough drafts though) as well. Next and also concluding to this bonus goodie art collection comes a coverage of rough sketches also contributed by MAKURA for magazine features like once again PUSH!!, TECH GIAN & Co. Most of these (as well as the Event CG rough/line art during the character portrayal part) are not included in full page size glory but overall the Official Artworks represents a neat bonus to a great Soft I’d say. Especially getting more Korie Riko done rough sketches collected (I mean, her art skills got me considering her my personal favorite gooddess in these terms anyways and it’s so neat to see her rough sketches VS. the finished b/w Event CG for the girlhood trio she’s been in charge here) alongside the downright hilarious SD art Inguami Kila crafted for the Jako route is definitely a feast for the eyes. Yet here’s not denying that I was expecting a little bit more from this “artbook” than Official Artworks all in all brought along, but given the Pre-Order campaign bonus involved here is by *far* more the effort one usually gets for such add-on goods to begin with, I felt way more forgiving to MAKURA over the presentation conducted on the bonus art collection here. The second sales point the Tokusou Shokaiban comes along with may not be much to write home about either, however still neat and I’m loving this quite much. A tiny and so-called “Original Plastic Shiori” (strap) which feautres lovely (and on the Official page kept secret) 4koma full color Manga/short of Jako and Yuuri (Unooooon) illustrated by Inugami-sensei…and here’s never getting enough of this artist any time so such ideas are very welcomed as far as I’m concerned!
+ Overall Impression:
Reaching the final paragraph of today’s Bishoujo Soft thoughts and impressions entry yours truly has honestly little left to point out which hasn’t been mentioned or raved over during one or another place of this write-up. To be frankly honest I certainly did not enter Supre~me Candy expecting what I conclusively received..not at all and I guess that’s partwise due to the crazy appearing basic premise that makes it sound like love comedy from start to end but not such real well staged and moreso written dramatical adventure filled with lifefull moments that The Pillow acchieved to craft as their third major project. Supre~me Candy represented a wonderful Bishoujo ADV experience which actually set the deal for me and turned me into a hooked fan of theirs and KEROQ in general. That said, I read reviews by some fans out there claiming that Supre~me Candy feels way more like a KEROQ title rather than something MAKURA would craft. I’m not sure that I can really agree with that or whether I’m actually capable to answer that by now, yet it’s sure that Supre~me Candy takes on quite some changes in several aspects from predecessing projects under the MAKURA flag. Mind you, there are lots of referances included, whilst not as direct as in case of Sakura no Uta by directly including known characters from other works from little and delicately spread remarks like Magical Girl Otoha over the Otaku club’s captain scolding Yuu for not being capable to recite the well known three sizes of Hayami (Kohinata) up to locations and styling taking on forms that the follower of this Softhouse would recognize. But coevally in contrast to both previous works by The Pillow Supre~me Candy takes on partwise total new ground and also staff in charge which certainly could lead ot a different impression/taste that it comes along with in comparison with H2O or √after and another. While I really doubt the release much as the possibility of a Fandisc (given that we’re provided with basically a route for each of the leads and also represented epilogue to each of them…personally this fanboy mere wishes for MAKURA to lastly get back on their notice/plans to release the Comike76 Goods through their webmail order at last…) of any sorts to it I truely hope, demand and wish for the same team that was in charge of Supre~me Candy to get back on a next project soon (since who’s still got faith left for Sakura no Uta to come out any time..soon anyways?). Definitely this Soft represents to me one of the best titles I’ve gone through this year and which I really should have not hesitated over as long as it lastly took me.
